My ROTC military ball is coming up this Saturday and I don’t really know what to expect. Up until this afternoon, I wasn’t sure who I was going with if anybody. See my best guy friend likes me and wants me to go with him but I’ve told him multiple times no and that I only like him as a friend. I’ve been decent about it and nice. What more can I say? I’m not going to lie. I don’t do anything hanging out wise with him with just me and him because I don’t want to give him the impression that It’s a date. What are you suppose to do with stuff like that?
My friend Devon and I had decided a while back that we would go with each other if we had no one else to go with because we both love to dance and would have fun together. Also everyone calls him “Mr.Mcflirt” and me “Ms.Mcflirt” so it’s going to be hilarious that we are going to the Military Ball together. I hope it will be fun!
Drama is always around the bend though. Some people just don’t understand that no means no. Thatgoes for girls with Devon and guys with me.

Hey TearLily, my husband was my best guy friend for 5 years. Didn’t realize I loved him until he started dating someone. Then I realized the man of my dreams was right in front of me all along. He waited on me patiently all those years. We have been happily married for several years. He treats me like a princess.
Perhaps the love of your life is right in front of you, but you do not see him, really SEE him yet.

I’m not sure how to help you with this situation with your guy friend since I never really experienced something like that but I think the best you can do is if you are sure that you do not like your guy friend then be blunt and say no. Aww thank you so much! It turned out to be a pretty good night even with a little drama! I danced with my guy friend a little bit and I think he understands better now? Well I hope so anyway…but it’s not really fair for him because he hasn’t ever had a girlfriend before so I feel so bad saying no all the time. When I say no I try making excuses up then I have a talk with him “again!” and he never seems to get it because he always says well it’s not a date but I just don’t feel comfortable going someplace with him by ourselves, you know?
